303 Magazine Denver Colorado
Earlier this month before the First Friday event at the Denver Photo Art Gallery, I met with Lesya of 303 Magazine for a short interview on my photography and my residency at the Gallery. Thank You for your time Lesya the interview was a lot of fun and the article came out great. I couldn’t be any happier:

In other news I have been working on a redesign of the webpage so there may be some bumps along the way. Since I am a construction worker to pay my bills I have some down time in Winter. I am filling some of that time on a WordPress 2.0 Class ( I hope I can hang as I am a selftaught WordPresser with a theme) and an SEO class offered by Colorado Mountain College but online. The long term goal is to overcome some of the limitations of the website currently and to provide a more free flowing – less confusing (when it comes to ordering) Page.

First Place in John Fielders Colorado Summer Photo Contest
I am proud to say that my photo Milky Way over Mayflower Gulch won first place in a “User Voting” Summer Photo Contest on the John Fielders Colorado Facebook page. As many of you reading this know, John Fielder is my biggest inspiration. He also wrote the book that I used when first learning landscape photography, Photographing the Landscape: The Art of Seeing. I highly recommend this book to anybody who wants to seriously pursue photography.
Beautiful Venus over Summit County Colorado
May 22, 2012
Breckenridge, Colorado under the beauty of Venus’ light on this Stellar Tuesday. I set out to do some night shots of Breckenridge and couldn’t resist but to go to the place where I learned night photography, Rocky Point on Boreas Pass. What better a place to see how my photography has developed?
The night was supposed to be relatively clear but a late evening shower left some low lying clouds. The lights of Breckenridge and neighboring town of Frisco reflecting off the clouds help to illuminate the Peaks of the Ten Mile Range.
PS Just published by the Summit County Voice, some of my Partial Solar Eclipse photos over Summit County.
Night over Copper Mountain
Stellar Tuesday: May 5, 2012
Gore Range in Summit County, Colorado: This image was shot on the night of the Lyrid Meteor Shower from Mayflower Gulch of the Ten Mile Range. I was looking for a scene to compose when I found this but I felt that this view was too far from the “origin” point of the Meteor shower. I figured that I would come back and work this shot over at another date but I was surprised when I got home to what I had in a single frame. The cloud is reflecting light from Copper Mountain Village near I-70.
Lightroom: Although there was some light reflecting on the peaks from the Climax Molybdenum Mine, I used the adjustment brush in Lightroom to warm the peaks slightly.
