Arrival of Winter
Stellar Tuesday – December 11, 2012: Snow covered trees and Orion high in the sky are signs that Winter has arrived in Summit County, Colorado. Shooting this scene was every bit as cold as it looks (-10 f ). I had to surrender to my Jeep once during the shoot and when I was done, my thumb that had no feeling, once it began to thaw felt like it was repeatedly being slammed in a car door. –Not a bad trade off in my mind.
This scene is actually composed of 2 photographs stitched in Photoshop as I could not squeeze the entire scene into a single frame with my 24mm. The illumination in the trees was courtesy of a passing car.
